WWE SummerSlam Saturday notes: Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, new post-show format

Notes from the fallout of WWE SummerSlam Saturday.

The shocking main event angle had Seth Rollins cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, revealing that his knee injury was nothing but a ruse. He came to the ring, attacked CM Punk and quickly pinned him to win the World Heavyweight title. Backstage, his wife Becky Lynch posted her reaction to the title win on social media, with a caption reading: “Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.”

During the SummerSlam post-show, Seth Rollins briefly came out and celebrated with his new championship alongside Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed.

The post-show featured no Q&A segments for the media and consisted mostly of WWE stars being asked in-character questions by the post-show roundtable. When Triple H came out, it was noted by Joe Tessitore that this is a new format where Triple H would be speaking to the audience directly. The media Q&A portion of the post-show had been de-emphesized in recent months, with more time being spent on backstage interviews and roundtable discussions.
