WWE teases arrival or return of wrestler in cryptic social media post
Someone with nice shoes is on their way to WWE, or possibly on their way back to WWE.
WWE posted a cryptic video to social media on Sunday morning. The short clip shows only the feet of a man wearing stylish shoes and dress pants as he takes several steps forward. The video is available below.
Fans have been speculating who WWE could be teasing. Popular theories include a returning Gunther, who has been gone since SummerSlam. Others have speculated that the mystery person could be Andrade El Idolo, who was fired from WWE last month, reportedly due to multiple Wellness Policy violations. Andrade returned to AEW programming on October 1 but has not been back since. WWE is believed to be enforcing a non-compete window of up to a year due to Andrade having been fired with cause.
Some fans have also suggested the teaser could be for Tony D’Angelo, who was written off NXT television in late July with a Sopranos-style backstage segment. The video could also be teasing the return of Santos Escobar, who hasn’t wrestled for WWE since the summer but reportedly re-signed with the company earlier this month.
