A tournament to crown the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions will take place this Monday.

It was announced during tonight’s SmackDown that a tournament to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions will begin Monday. Participants were not announced for the upcoming tournament.

The titles were vacated on May 20 after Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on the company on the May 16 edition of Raw due to creative differences. On the May 20 edition of SmackDown, announcer Michael Cole said that the duo were suspended from WWE and “let us all down” after walking out. Cole said that a tournament to crown new champions would take place in the future.

On Monday, WrestlingNews.co reported that Sasha Banks and Naomi have reached an agreement to return to WWE. The report stated that there "is a belief backstage that we may see them return on tonight's [Raw] or in the near future under Triple H's regime."

Already announced for Raw this coming Monday is Bobby Lashley defending the WWE United States Championship against Ciampa.
