WWE’s John Cena marries Shay Shariatzadeh

John Cena and his girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh were married in a ceremony in Tampa, Florida earlier this week.

PWinsider first reported today that Cena and Shariatzadeh got married on Monday, October 12. TMZ and E! News have also confirmed the report.

“At this time, there are few details on the secret ceremony,” E! News wrote. TMZ noted that Cena and Shariatzadeh started dating in early 2019 and filed for a marriage certificate in Florida in early October.

“Shay was born in Iran but is a Canadian citizen. She works as a product manager for a tech company in Vancouver,” TMZ wrote.

This is the second time that Cena has been married. Cena and Elizabeth Huberdeau were married in 2009 but got divorced in 2012. At WrestleMania 33 in 2017, Cena and Nikki Bella (real name Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace) got engaged in the ring. Cena and Bella split up in 2018. Bella is now engaged to her former “Dancing with the Stars” partner Artem Chigvintsev. Bella and Chigvintsev welcomed their first child, a boy named Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev, this July.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last month, Cena said his in-ring career with WWE isn’t over despite not being as active as it once was. “With the Elbow Grease books, I have a very young audience in WWE, a lot of kids, a lot of families. And as my in-ring career is…it’s not as active — it’s not over, but it’s not as active — I wanted to continue to send messaging to those younger viewers, because so many times, parents will be like, ‘hey, your Never Give Up words have helped my son or daughter.'”
