Xavier Woods undergoes surgery for torn Achilles

After suffering the injury on Monday, Xavier Woods has undergone surgery to repair his Achilles.

Woods posted a video update after waking up from surgery today. He said he has no clue how long he’s going to be out of action but will figure out that information soon. Later in the video, Woods mentioned that he won’t be able to wrestle for quite a while.

Dave Meltzer wrote about Woods’ injury in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter: “Woods suffered a torn Achilles tendon on 10/21 in Sydney, Australia, which is a very serious injury and is likely to put him on the shelf nine months to a year. Big E & Woods were facing The Revival and Woods was coming off the ropes and then just went down. It appeared to have snapped doing nothing at all dangerous.”

After Woods was attended to, the match continue with Big E facing The Revival on his own and The Revival retaining their titles.

Big E & Kofi Kingston will face Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode on tonight’s SmackDown. Both teams will be part of the World Cup tag team turmoil match at Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next Thursday.
