Adam Cole sit-down interview set for WWE NXT

On Tuesday’s episode of NXT, Adam Cole will make his first appearance since the aftermath of TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

WWE has announced that a sit-down interview with Cole will take place on Tuesday’s NXT. The interview will be conducted by sports writer and radio host Arash Markazi.

In the main event of TakeOver: Stand & Deliver night two earlier this month, Kyle O’Reilly defeated his former Undisputed Era stablemate Cole in an unsanctioned match. Footage of O’Reilly and Cole being taken to the hospital by ambulance was then shown on the post-TakeOver edition of NXT. Cole yelled at O’Reilly and threatened him as they were being wheeled into the hospital.

O’Reilly appeared on NXT earlier this week and said he’s done with Cole. O’Reilly mentioned potentially going after Karrion Kross’ NXT Championship or Johnny Gargano’s NXT North American Championship. Cameron Grimes then interrupted O’Reilly and had a business proposal for him. The segment ended with O’Reilly dropping Grimes with a punch.

O’Reilly defeated Grimes in the main event of this past Tuesday’s NXT. O’Reilly had a brief staredown backstage with Kross and Scarlett as he was making his entrance for the match.

Markazi has formerly worked for the LA Times, ESPN, and Sports Illustrated. He also appeared on the pre-shows for TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

Here’s the updated lineup for Tuesday’s NXT.

  • Bronson Reed vs. Austin Theory (if Reed wins, he gets a future shot at Johnny Gargano’s NXT North American Championship)
  • Mercedes Martinez vs. Dakota Kai
  • Kushida & MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) vs. Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde)
  • Arash Markazi interviews Adam Cole
