Finn Balor to appear on WWE NXT next week
For the first time since undergoing surgery for a broken jaw, NXT Champion Finn Balor will appear on NXT television next week.
During tonight’s NXT, it was announced that Balor will return to NXT next Wednesday. It was said that Balor will “address his kingdom” and give some insight on the situation with the NXT Championship.
Balor broke his jaw in two places while retaining the NXT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly in the main event of TakeOver 31 last month. After it was announced that Balor had to undergo surgery for the injury, WWE said that they were going to give it a few weeks and see how Balor recovers before deciding what to do with the NXT Championship.
Balor won the NXT Championship by defeating Adam Cole for the then-vacant title this September. The title had been vacated by Karrion Kross after Kross suffered a separated shoulder during the match where he won the NXT Championship from Keith Lee at TakeOver XXX this August.
An NXT Women’s Championship match is also set for next week. Io Shirai will defend her title against Rhea Ripley on the episode.
