Semifinals set for WWE NXT men’s Dusty Classic

The 2021 men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is down to its final four teams.

The quarterfinals of the tournament concluded with Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher defeating Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole & Roderick Strong and Legado Del Fantasma’s Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde defeating The Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado) on NXT tonight.

Both semifinal matches in the men’s Dusty Classic will take place on NXT next Wednesday. Ciampa & Thatcher will face The Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake), while Mendoza & Wilde will face MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter). The teams that win those matches will advance to face each other in the men’s Dusty Classic finals at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on Sunday, February 14.

The Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Kushida & Leon Ruff in the quarterfinals. MSK defeated Drake Maverick & Killian Dain.

After Ciampa & Thatcher defeated Strong & Cole in tonight’s main event, the show ended with The Grizzled Young Veterans confronting Ciampa & Thatcher on the stage. The teams were about to get into a brawl before it was broken up by officials.

MSK also came out to the stage and cut a promo after Mendoza & Wilde defeated Metalik & Dorado tonight.

The team that wins the men’s Dusty Classic will receive the Dusty Cup and a shot at Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch’s NXT Tag Team titles.
