Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano to air on April 8 episode of NXT

A date has been set for Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano to settle their rivalry.

Ciampa vs. Gargano will air on the Wednesday, April 8 episode of NXT. Triple H announced the match on tonight’s show and said he would find an empty building, put a ring there, send them the location, and give them a referee who will only be there to say it’s over.

It was announced going into tonight’s show that Ciampa and Gargano would have to answer to Triple H after their brawl at the Performance Center two weeks ago. Triple H brought up that he went through the same things with Shawn Michaels and understands where Ciampa and Gargano are at, but this has gone on long enough. Triple H said he can’t have Ciampa and Gargano tearing up buildings and endangering other people.

Triple H said this deserves to end on the biggest stage there is, but Ciampa and Gargano agreed that they didn’t need that.

Ciampa said this is about proving who the heart and soul of NXT is. Triple H told Ciampa and Gargano that if this continues after their match — neither of them will be in NXT anymore.

At the end of the segment, a brief video of Killer Kross interrupted the show. It confirmed that the recent apocalyptic-style vignettes that had been airing were for Kross.

The number one contender’s ladder match that had originally been set for NXT TakeOver: Tampa will also air on the April 8 episode of NXT. It will feature Chelsea Green, Mia Yim, Tegan Nox, Io Shirai, Candice LeRae and the winner of next week’s second chance gauntlet match. Dakota Kai, Xia Li, Aliyah, Kayden Carter, Shotzi Blackheart, and Deonna Purrazzo are the wrestlers who will be in the gauntlet match.
