WWE announces Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair for NXT
Charlotte Flair is returning to the NXT ring for a match against Bianca Belair.
WWE has confirmed that Charlotte vs. Belair will take place on Wednesday’s episode of NXT. This will be the first time Charlotte has wrestled in NXT since 2015.
Charlotte sent out a tweet accepting the challenge that Belair had issued this week: “NXT Women calling out The Queen is apparently the trending thing to do. I would want to face the best too. See you Wednesday. @WWENXT”
Charlotte won this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match and will challenge Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36. That match was made official after Charlotte attacked Ripley at NXT TakeOver: Portland and revealed that she was accepting Ripley’s challenge.
Prior to being attacked by Charlotte, Ripley retained her title against Belair at TakeOver: Portland. Charlotte also threw Belair into the steel steps after attacking Ripley.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Austin Theory and an appearance by Finn Balor have also been announced for Wednesday’s NXT. A video with Balor aired on NXT this week, with him saying that he proved NXT is his chessboard by defeating Johnny Gargano at TakeOver. Balor told everyone to watch his next move.
