WWE confirms NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin cancellation

After being postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin has now been canceled.

WWE issued a statement on Friday confirming that NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin has been canceled. The event was first listed as canceled by Ticketmaster and 3Arena Dublin earlier on Friday. For those who had purchased tickets, refunds will be available from the point of purchase.

NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin had most recently been scheduled to take place at 3Arena Dublin on Sunday, June 20. Prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was originally set to be held in April 2020. It was first postponed to October 2020 and then June 2021 before being canceled.

Following a hiatus due to the pandemic, NXT UK returned with new episodes last September. Episodes are taped at BT Sport Studios in London, England with no fans in attendance.

NXT UK has yet to hold a TakeOver event since returning from hiatus. Earlier this month, a special episode titled “NXT UK: Prelude” aired during WrestleMania 37 week. It was headlined by WALTER defeating Rampage Brown to retain the NXT United Kingdom Championship.
