Flip Gordon cleared to return to the ring

Flip Gordon posted an update on his recovery from injury today, announcing that he's been cleared to return to the ring.

Gordon tweeted: "UPDATE: I just saw the doctor, I passed all the tests, and I am officially CLEARED to WRESTLE!!!"

Gordon suffered a knee injury while facing Tracy Williams at ROH's Honor Reigns Supreme event on January 13. Gordon grabbed his knee after hitting a single-leg dropkick, then rolled out of the ring shortly after hitting a springboard spear. The referee declared Williams the winner by stoppage.

ROH posted an injury update on Gordon on January 22. An MRI revealed that Gordon suffered a full MCL tear in his right knee at Honor Reigns Supreme, but ROH noted that surgery was not required and he should be able to return in time for G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, April 6.

The crowd chanted Gordon's name at one point during Bully Ray's promo at last week's ROH 17th Anniversary pay-per-view, with Bully Ray telling them that he never said "I Quit" during the I Quit match he lost to Gordon at Final Battle. Bully Ray issued an open challenge for anyone in the pro wrestling business to face him in a New York City street fight at G1 Supercard.
