Impact viewership up despite going against NFL season opener

Despite competition from the first game of the NFL season, Impact Wrestling ratings were up a bit this week.

The episode averaged 236,000 viewers on Pop TV, which is up from last week's 225,000. Viewership has increased each of the last four weeks, but the past five episodes are still the five lowest audiences Impact has drawn in 2018.

The rating in the 18-49 demo was a 0.05, down from last Thursday's 0.07.

The show featured Moose explaining why he turned heel and aligned with Austin Aries and Killer Kross, Tessa Blanchard defending her Knockouts Championship against Su Yung, and Sami Callihan, Dave Crist & Jake Crist facing Zachary Wentz, Ace Austin & Trey Miguel.

The Philadelphia Eagles vs. Atlanta Falcons game, which began at 9:05 Eastern time after a 45-minute weather delay, drew 19 million viewers on NBC. Pre-game coverage aired opposite the first hour of Impact.

Impact was also up in the year-over-year ratings, with the September 7, 2017 episode having averaged 227,000 viewers against the New England Patriots vs. Kansas City Chiefs season opener.
