Trevor Lee departing Impact Wrestling, WWE interested

Trevor Lee has finished up with Impact Wrestling.

PWinsider reported today that Lee gave notice to Impact and is departing the company. They noted that WWE is interested in bringing in Lee for NXT.

Our Dave Meltzer has confirmed their report and notes that Lee's contract with Impact ends on December 31, 2018.

Lee responded to the report via Twitter: 'I'm still 'Impact wrestling Star' Trevor Lee."

Lee was in action at this week's Impact television tapings at Sam's Town Live in Las Vegas. As part of the build to January's Homecoming pay-per-view, he lost an Ultimate X qualifying match to Trey Miguel. Lee was also defeated by Killer Kross in a match on the last day of this week's tapings. There was a post-match angle where Kross punched a brick/cinder block into Lee's face.

Lee is a former three-time X Division Champion and one-time Tag Team Champion for Impact. He's also a regular for PWG, AAW, and CWF Mid-Atlantic.
