CM Punk vs. Mike Jackson official for UFC 225 In Chicago

CM Punk’s next UFC fight is finally official.

As expected, it was announced today that Punk will be facing Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in Chicago on June 9th. The fight had been discussed for the show since at least February, and Dana White confirmed last week that Jackson would be Punk’s next opponent.

Jackson was the person that Mickey Gall defeated before being confirmed as the opponent for Punk’s first UFC matchup. Punk and Jackson’s only pro mixed martial arts fights have been their first-round submission losses to Gall.

Punk will again be competing at welterweight.

UFC 225 at the United Center will be the company’s first pay-per-view to take place in Chicago. Robert Whittaker defending his middleweight title against Yoel Romero is scheduled to be the main event, with Rafael dos Anjos facing Colby Covington for the interim welterweight championship. The UFC has also added Holly Holm vs. Megan Anderson to the show’s card.
