Former WWE wrestler and political candidate Daniel Rodimer has asked a judge to dismiss an ongoing murder charge against him.

As per a report by Fox 5 KVVU-TV Local Las Vegas, Rodimer’s attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss the murder charge against him related to the death of a man on the Las Vegas Strip in 2023.

47-year-old Christopher Tapp was found dead in a Las Vegas Strip hotel room on October 29, 2023. As per the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, Tapp’s death initially looked accidental before police later found out about his altercation in the hotel room. The Clark County Coroner’s Office later ruled Tapp’s death a homicide.

Former WWE wrestler Rodimer was charged in connection with Tapp’s death after a 2023 Halloween party inside a suite at Resorts World Las Vegas. Prosecutors stated Rodimer attacked Tapp at the party.

Rodimer’s attorneys’ defense filing argued that the Clark County coroner’s findings showed Tapp’s injuries were not suspicious and were the result of drug and alcohol use. Previously, it was reported that Tapp’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

The motion also alleged that the police violated attorney-client and spousal privilege as they intercepted Rodimer’s text messages with his lawyer and his wife. The former wrestler pleaded not guilty.
