Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling to hold Northern Rising PPV
After its first season of television ends, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling will be capping things off with a pay-per-view.
The Canadian-based promotion announced today that Northern Rising 2026 will take place at Mattamy Athletic Centre (the former Maple Leaf Gardens) in Toronto on Saturday, October 3. The event will be “broadcast live worldwide on pay-per-view.”
MLP is launching its weekly Mayhem TV series on TSN2 in Canada this Wednesday (July 15). Outside of Canada, viewers will be able to watch the show through MyAEW on Thursdays. Mayhem is airing in a seasonal format with the inaugural season wrapping up just a few days before Northern Rising. Mauro Ranallo and Don Callis will be the commentators for the series.
Scott D’Amore hyped that, leading into Northern Rising, he’ll be making some announcements that will get people talking.
“We have some announcements coming in the weeks ahead that I think are going to get the wrestling world talking,” the MLP president said. “If you’re excited about what you’ve seen from Maple Leaf Pro so far, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
Stu Grayson and Gisele Shaw are the current top title holders in MLP, though Grayson’s Canadian Championship is an interim one with champion Josh Alexander sidelined by a knee injury that will keep him out of action for a while.
Tickets for Northern Rising are going on sale on Friday, July 31. It’s the second annual edition of the event. Last year’s show saw Alexander and Shaw win their respective championships.
