The United States Coast Guard has suspended its search for Shad Gaspard.

That was reported by TMZ this morning. TMZ wrote that they know "there was at least one boat still searching for Gaspard on Tuesday morning, but it's become clear the chances of finding the ex-WWE star are fading fast."

It was noted that Gaspard's case won't be closed until he's found, but for now the efforts have been drastically scaled back.

The Los Angeles Police Department said that its efforts to search for Gaspard haven't been suspended.

Gaspard disappeared after getting caught in a rip current while he and his 10-year-old son were swimming at Venice Beach in California on Sunday. Gaspard's son was rescued, with TMZ reporting that a witness told them Gaspard directed rescuers to help his son first.

The last time Gaspard was seen was when a big wave crashed down on him during the rescue.

Earlier today, Lilian Garcia posted a video from where Gaspard went missing on Sunday and asked people to pray for his family.

Several wrestlers sent out a message on behalf of Gaspard's family on Monday night: "@Shadbeast‘s family appreciates all the love, support, and concern through this horrible ordeal. At this time they are not ready to make any public or official statements to any media outlet And ask all to respect their wishes."
