Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles rematch confirmed for WWE TLC

AJ Styles will get his rematch for the WWE Championship at next month’s TLC pay-per-view.

It was announced on tonight’s SmackDown that Daniel Bryan will defend his WWE Championship against Styles at TLC in San Jose, California on December 16. Styles’ reign as WWE Champion ended last Tuesday, with Bryan winning the title from him and turning heel in the process.

Bryan appeared on SmackDown tonight and cut a promo where he called himself “the new Daniel Bryan.” He spoke in the third person and said the act of betrayal he committed wasn’t last week, it was when he retired nearly three years ago and gave up on his dreams. He said the difference between him and the fans is that he doesn’t accept failure.

Bryan blamed the fans for moving on. He said the “Yes” chants grew quieter every week and he stopped fighting — but his dreams took over when he low blowed Styles and won the title. His dreams told him he didn’t need to defeat Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series to win, he won by allowing Lesnar to beat the weakness out of him.

Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin in a tables, ladders, and chairs match (if Strowman is able to wrestle at the show), Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey defending against Nia Jax, and Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins defending against Dean Ambrose, and the finals of Mixed Match Challenge season two are also set for TLC.
