On the road to the Royal Rumble, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will be in action on Monday’s episode of Raw.

WWE has announced that McIntyre will face Randy Orton in a non-title match on Raw this coming Monday (January 11). WWE is also hyping that McIntyre will address Goldberg’s challenge for a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble.

This week’s Legends Night edition of Raw ended with Goldberg confronting McIntyre and challenging him to a title match at the Royal Rumble. Prior to Goldberg appearing, McIntyre had retained his WWE Championship against Keith Lee in the main event of Raw.

Legends Night also saw Orton try to intimidate Big Show, Mark Henry, and Ric Flair in backstage segments. Orton also defeated Jeff Hardy on Raw and did an interview where he said he hates himself for showing restraint and not setting Alexa Bliss on fire in the previous week’s show-closing angle. Orton said he’s going to direct that hatred toward other people.

McIntyre and Orton feuded over the WWE Championship in 2020, including McIntyre losing the title to Orton at Hell in a Cell in October. McIntyre regained the WWE Championship on Raw less than a month later.
