Edge and Seth Rollins are officially set to go one-on-one for the first time ever.

Edge vs. Rollins has been made official for SummerSlam. The pay-per-view is taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 21.

The build to Edge vs. Rollins began prior to last month's Money in the Bank PPV. Rollins wanted to challenge for Roman Reigns' Universal Championship at Money in the Bank, but Edge was chosen as Reigns' opponent instead.

Rollins interfered in Reigns vs. Edge at Money in the Bank and helped cost Edge the match. Edge and Rollins then brawled after the match.

Edge vs. Rollins was announced for SummerSlam during a segment on tonight's SmackDown. Edge challenged Rollins to the match, but Rollins said he was going to think about it. Rollins brought up Edge's past neck injuries and warned him about what would happen when Rollins stomps his head into the mat.

Edge responded by saying that Rollins has tried to walk in his footsteps but can't fill them. He called Rollins the lite version of Edge. Rollins got mad at that and accepted Edge's challenge.

During Edge and Rollins' feud, WWE has referenced the angle where Rollins threatened Edge on Raw in 2014. Rollins has vowed that he won't hesitate to take out Edge this time.

Here's the updated card for SummerSlam:

  • Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends against John Cena
  • WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Goldberg
  • SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair defends against Sasha Banks
  • Raw Women's Champion Nikki A.S.H. defends against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match
