Erick Rowan suffered torn biceps at WWE SummerSlam

Erick Rowan suffered an injury during the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match at SummerSlam.

PWInsider reported last night that Rowan injured his arm during The Bludgeon Brothers vs. The New Day on Sunday and that the word was that it was a biceps injury. Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Rowan tore his biceps in one of his arms.

Rowan didn’t appear at last night’s SmackDown-brand house show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with Karl Anderson (w/ Luke Gallows) instead defeating Harper in a singles match at the event. Harper & Rowan defending their Tag Team titles against New Day in a no disqualification match has been announced for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. New Day at SummerSlam ended in a DQ when Rowan attacked Xavier Woods and Big E with a mallet. Harper & Rowan have held the SmackDown Tag Team titles since winning them at WrestleMania 34 this April.
