First three wrestlers qualify for WWE Money in the Bank matches

The first three wrestlers have qualified for this year’s Money in the Bank ladder matches.

Three qualifiers took place on Raw tonight, with Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, and Ember Moon advancing to the June 17th pay-per-view. Balor and Moon won triple threat matches, while Strowman defeated Kevin Owens.

Before Balor advanced, Roman Reigns seemingly had the main event won until Jinder Mahal interfered to cost him the match. There was a show-long storyline where Mahal wanted Kurt Angle to put him in a qualifier and didn’t think Reigns deserved a spot. Balor pinned Sami Zayn after Mahal’s interference.

Moon defeated Ruby Riott and Sasha Banks by hitting an Eclipse prior to pinning Riott.

WWE offered some clarity for the PPV at the start of Raw tonight as Angle announced that there would be one men’s ladder match and one women’s ladder match, with them featuring wrestlers from both Raw and SmackDown. There will be eight wrestlers in each match.

The qualifiers will continue on SmackDown tomorrow night. Daniel Bryan vs. Rusev, The Miz vs. Jeff Hardy, and Charlotte Flair vs. Peyton Royce will decide the next three wrestlers to join the Money in the Bank matches.
