The 67-year-old Duggan has battled health issues the past few years, undergoing a heart procedure in March 2019 following an atrial fibrillation scare over Thanksgiving weekend in 2018. Later in 2019, Duggan suffered an infection that was serious enough to require two operations in 24 hours.

In a January 2020 interview with Wrestling Inc., Duggan said his health had improved and that he had lost 40 pounds.

Even after his days in the major organizations were done, Duggan remained active in indie wrestling through May 2019 and in the aforementioned Wrestling Inc. interview, he said his in-ring career was done. It’s believed he is still under a WWE Legends contract.
