Jeff Hardy, Paige appearances announced for WWE SmackDown

Jeff Hardy is returning to WWE television this Friday night.

An advertisement that aired during Raw tonight announced that Jeff will appear on SmackDown this Friday. He’s been backstage at SmackDown the past few weeks but hasn’t been on the show.

During his appearance on WWE Backstage last Tuesday, Jeff announced that he’s been cleared to return to the ring. “I’m officially cleared, so I’ve been at SmackDown on FOX the last two weeks in a row,” Jeff said. “I’m just waiting for the right creative spot to jump back in the mix.”

Jeff underwent surgery to repair his right knee last May.

Jeff revealed on WWE Backstage that he entered in-patient rehab for the first time in his life after his driving while impaired arrest in October. He said it was one of the best things he ever could have done for himself.

The advertisement also announced that Paige will confront SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley on SmackDown this week. WWE.com wrote that “Bayley has shared plenty of opinions as the self-proclaimed model for the Women’s Division. After Lacey Evans & Naomi’s recent resistance fell unsuccessful, Paige will now step up to try and set the SmackDown Women’s Champion straight.”

Paige tweeted after the announcement was made: “I guess I’m going back to work Friday.. see you soon @itsBayleyWWE #SmackDown @WWEonFOX @WWE”

Friday’s SmackDown is taking place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
