Jeremy Borash departing Impact Wrestling for WWE

Jeremy Borash, who had been with Impact Wrestling since the company’s beginnings, is headed to WWE pending finalization of a contract.

PWInsider first reported the news today, confirmed by our Dave Meltzer. Borash is expected to work in NXT, but further details on his role have yet to emerge. When he was with Impact, Borash had various on-screen duties and was a vital employee behind the scenes. He received praise for the part he played in the “Broken Hardys” content that Impact produced.

On camera, Borash was most recently the lead play-by-play voice of Impact. He was also scheduled to host a new weekly version of Live Audio Wrestling on the company’s Twitch channel.

Borash was in Philadelphia for Royal Rumble week and hosted a “Slobberknocker Sessions” live show with Jim Ross. PWInsider noted that Borash was backstage at the WWE events over the last few days. They wrote that he was initially telling people that he was just visiting friends, but the word backstage at Raw was that he had been hired by WWE.
