Mickie James undergoes successful ACL surgery

Mickie James underwent successful surgery to repair her torn ACL today.

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis, who is married to James, posted an update after she had knee surgery done in Birmingham, Alabama this morning: “Surgery was a complete success. I’m sure when she’s feeling up to it she’ll share more. Thank you all!”

James tore her ACL during a match against Carmella at WWE’s house show in Waco, Texas on June 1. Dave Meltzer noted that the injury was to James’ right ACL and that she’s expected to be out of action for seven to nine months.

After her previous stint with the company ended in 2010, James returned to WWE in January 2017. She had also taken part in a match against Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Toronto in November 2016 prior to making her full-time return.

James was moved to the SmackDown roster in this April’s Superstar Shake-up.
