Paige bringing tag team to WWE SmackDown next week
WWE is hyping that Paige is bringing a tag team to SmackDown next week.
Paige made an appearance on tonight’s SmackDown and was shown watching WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Peyton Royce & Billie Kay’s match against “The Brooklyn Belles.” After The IIconics retained, Paige was interviewed by Kayla Braxton and said she’s bringing an impressive tag team to SmackDown next week.
Royce & Kay won the Women’s Tag Team titles in a fatal four-way match against Sasha Banks & Bayley, Beth Phoenix & Natalya, and Nia Jax & Tamina at WrestleMania 35. They cut a promo on tonight’s SmackDown and disingenuously claimed that they were going to be fighting champions. Royce & Kay introduced The Brooklyn Belles, calling them the best tag team they could find in Brooklyn and alleging that they had a 45-0 record.
The Brooklyn Belles were played by independent wrestlers Kris Statlander & Karissa Rivera.
Next Tuesday’s SmackDown is night two of this year’s Superstar Shakeup. It will begin on next week’s Raw, with Raw and SmackDown both taking place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
