VIDEO: NXT teases Shayna Baszler’s debut
A video that aired during this week’s episode of NXT hyped the arrival of a new addition to the roster.
The teaser featured the silhouette of a wrestler and the word “soon,” with spades replacing the middle letters of the word. That Shayna Baszler appeared at the most recent set of television tapings and that her nickname is “The Queen of Spades” seemed to hint that she was the person who would be debuting, and Dave Meltzer said that the video was for her on Wrestling Observer Radio last night.
Baszler has wrestled at house shows in Florida since losing to Kairi Sane in the finals of the Mae Young Classic, but her appearance last Wednesday was the first time she’s been featured on an NXT TV taping. WWE announced in October that Baszler had officially signed with the company.
The next round of NXT tapings will take place at Center Stage in Atlanta on January 4th as the build to TakeOver: Philadelphia continues.
