WALTER vs. Kushida announced for next week’s NXT
A first-time matchup will be taking place on next week’s episode of NXT.
WWE has announced that WALTER will face Kushida on NXT next Wednesday (October 9). It wasn’t indicated that WALTER’s WWE United Kingdom Championship will be on the line.
On NXT’s live premiere two weeks ago, there was an angle where WALTER’s Imperium stablemates (Marcel Barthel, Fabian Aichner & Alexander Wolfe) attacked Denzel Dejournette before he was supposed to face Kushida. Kushida then interrupted a promo by WALTER, avoided Imperium’s attacks, and hit a kick on WALTER.
Kushida teamed with Breezango and defeated Barthel, Aichner & Wolfe on NXT last week. WALTER appeared and laid out Kushida on the stage after the match.
Next Wednesday will be the second week of the NXT vs. AEW “Wednesday Night War.” Drew Gulak defending his Cruiserweight Championship against Lio Rush has also been announced for next week’s NXT.
Rush was set up as Gulak’s next challenger by defeating Oney Lorcan in a number one contender’s match on NXT two weeks ago.
