WWE announces TLC 2020 for December

WWE has officially confirmed when its final pay-per-view of 2020 will be taking place.

During Survivor Series tonight, an advertisement aired announcing that TLC will take place on Sunday, December 20. This will be the first WWE PPV to take place as part of the company’s residency at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was announced last week that the WWE ThunderDome is moving to Tropicana Field starting with the Friday, December 11 episode of SmackDown. In the announcement, it was noted that Raw, SmackDown, and PPVs will be produced at Tropicana Field with only essential personnel in attendance.

The Amway Center in Orlando, Florida has hosted the ThunderDome since it was introduced this August, but WWE needed a new venue due to the NBA season starting next month. Tropicana Field is a domed stadium that’s home to MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays.

Last year’s TLC PPV was headlined by then-Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) defeating Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair in a tables, ladders, and chairs match.
