WWE confirms SmackDown airing on FS1 next week due to World Series

WWE has officially confirmed a planned channel shift for next week’s SmackDown.

With game three of the World Series taking place next Friday (October 25), SmackDown will air live on FS1 instead of FOX. WWE made the announcement of the one-time only change during SmackDown tonight.

The Washington Nationals will play either the Houston Astros or New York Yankees in the World Series. NXT and AEW will face competition from game two of the World Series next Wednesday (October 23). If necessary, game seven of the series would take place the Wednesday after that (October 30).

Raw isn’t scheduled to go against the World Series this year. All of the World Series games will air on FOX.

Next week’s SmackDown is taking place at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Starting on November 5, WWE’s Backstage studio show will air weekly on FS1 at 11 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesdays. A preview episode of Backstage was shown last week.
