WWE SmackDown live results: Sasha Banks vs. Bayley

The build to Survivor Series continues on tonight's SmackDown from the ThunderDome. 

SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks defends against Bayley in a rematch from Hell in a Cell. Banks won the title in a Hell in a Cell match when she locked on the Bank Statement with a chair.

Last week, Bayley demanded a rematch and pointed out that Banks has never successfully defended a title after winning it. The winner of tonight's match will take on Raw Women's Champion Asuka at Survivor Series in a non-title match. 

Survivor Series features the champions from each brand battling in non-title matches. The event also includes two traditional Survivor Series elimination matches. Kevin Owens and Jey Uso have already qualified for SmackDown's men's team, while Bianca Belair has qualified for SmackDown's women's team.

WWE has announced three Survivor Series qualifying matches for tonight. Seth Rollins vs. Otis and Rey Mysterio vs. Baron Corbin will determine the next two members of SmackDown's men's team. Natalya vs. Zelina Vega vs. Ruby Riott will decide the next member of SmackDown's women's team.

Show Recap:

SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks defeated Bayley to retain the title 

SmackDown started with Banks making her entrance. They then recapped the entire Banks and Bayley feud. 

Kayla Braxton interviewed Bayley in the back before she made her entrance. She pointed out that she signed the contract under duress and that Banks has never successfully defended a title. They did the special ring introductions. 

Banks and Bayley had a good fast-paced match. They both worked hard and told a good story. 

Banks backed Bayley into the corner after locking up. Banks had the early advantage with an arm drag using the top rope. They fought over a backslide, but Banks just flipped over. Banks went for the Bank Statement, but Bayley made it to the ropes to break the hold. 

Back from the break, Banks slid under the bottom rope and dropped Bayley face-first on the apron. She followed up with double knees to the face for a near fall. 

Banks then hit the double knees on the apron against the post. In a cool spot, Banks attempted the move again, but Bayley used her feet to lift her in the air and dropped Banks on the floor. 

Bayley took over and used a slingshot under the bottom rope for a near fall. Bayley slowed the pace down with a chin lock. 

Banks fought back and hit the double knees in the corner for a close two count. Bayley quickly recovered and hit a huge clothesline for another close near fall. 

Banks recovered and hit the Meteora off the middle turnbuckle. Bayley rolled to the floor, but Banks took out Bayley with a massive flying crossbody. 

Back from the break, Banks, and Bayley fought on the ring post. Banks slipped out and attempted a powerbomb on the floor. Bayley countered with a hurricanrana into the announce table. 

Banks made a comeback and hit a running knee in the corner. She then ran up the steps and hit an elbow on Bayley on the apron. Banks followed up with a frog splash for a close near fall. 

Banks hit the backstabber, but Bayley rolled through and attempted the Bayley-to-Belly. Banks slipped out and went for the Bank Statement, but Bayley fought back. 

Bayley brought a kendo stick into the ring, but the referee threw it out. The referee was distracted, so Bayley brought in a chair. Banks kicked the chair away, but Bayley hit the Bayley-to-Belly for a very close near fall. 

Bayley hit an elbow off the top for another near fall. Bayley then locked on the Bank Statment on Banks, but Banks made it to the ropes. 

On the apron, Bayley charged at Banks, but Banks moved. Bayley crashed hard into the ring post. Banks then locked on the Bank Statement for the win. 

After the match, Banks posed with the title on the ramp. Suddenly, Carmella made her return and rocked Banks with a superkick and hit the X-factor. 

In the back, Jey Uso was getting a coffee when Kevin Owens approached. They were being friendly with each other and joked about the last few weeks being tough. Owens joked that Paul Heyman should be getting Roman Reigns coffee, not Uso. Uso got in Owens' face and asked if he thinks his family is a joke.

Owens doesn't think any of this is a joke. He just wanted to talk to Uso since they're partners at the Survivor Series. 

Michael Cole and Corey Graves discussed The Undertaker's final farewell at the Survivor Series and noted Undertaker would be at the PPV.

Kayla Braxton interviewed Jey Uso backstage. They recapped the angle between Uso and Roman Reigns, including Uso attacking Daniel Bryan after their match last week. 

Braxton asked Uso to explain his actions. Uso noted he did what he has to do. Braxton pointed out that Uso has to do what Reigns tells him to do. Uso didn't appreciate the comment.

Paul Heyman approached and was furious because Reigns didn't approve the interview. Heyman informed Uso that Reigns needs to talk to him. Braxton pointed out that Heyman has a better spot in the family. Uso didn't like that comment either. 

In the back, Rey Mysterio was on the phone trying to find his daughter Aalyah. Dominik Mysterio ran in and pointed out that Rey has a match next. Rey didn't care and kept trying to call Aalyah. He asked Dominik if he knows where she is, but he doesn't. He told Rey that his match is next, and he's not even ready. 

Dominik left to get Rey's gear and Rey got back on the phone. Suddenly, King Corbin jumped Rey and beat him down until Dominik ran back. 

Back from the break, Paul Heyman and Jey Uso talked in front of Roman Reigns locker room. Heyman explained Uso needs Reigns' permission to do interviews. Uso didn't understand why he couldn't do the interview. 

Heyman went and got Reigns. Reigns was furious that Uso agreed to the interview and explained that he couldn't do that anymore. He was also upset about the interaction with Kevin Owens. Uso said Owens was joking around, but Reigns didn't care. 

After Uso left, Reigns was upset with Heyman for not knowing about this. He told Heyman that's his job, so Reigns doesn't have to take care of stuff like this. He demanded Heyman find Adam Pearce and bring him to Reigns. 

This was a great segment. Uso, Reigns, and Heyman were all great. 

Survivor Series Qualifying Match: King Corbin defeated Rey Mysterio (w/Dominik Mysterio) 

Corbin dominated the match, which dragged at times. It picked up towards the end. 

Michael Cole and Corey Graves mostly talked about the Mysterio family issues and Aalyah's relationship with Murphy, 

Rey came to the ring limping and selling his injuries from the attack. He competed in his street clothes because he didn't have time to put on his gear. Corbin attacked Mysterio at the bell to take over. He hit a huge spinebuster for a near fall. 

Corbin dominated the match, but Mysterio made a comeback and rolled up Corbin for a near fall. Suddenly, Seth Rollins' music hit, and he walked out onto the ramp. 

Back from the break, Mysterio hit a splash from the apron. Corbin shoved Mysterio in the corner, but Mysterio fought back with kicks. Mysterio attempted a springboard, but Corbin caught him and hit a backbreaker for a near fall. 

Mysterio attempted a cross body, but Corbin caught him and hit the world's strongest slam for a near fall. Corbin continued to dominate Mysterio and hit a series of shots to the face. Mysterio made a brief comeback, but Corbin caught him in a bear hug. 

Mysterio made another comeback, and the pace quickened. He made a fiery comeback and scored a close near fall. Mysterio avoided the End of Days and went for the 619, but Corbin rolled out of the ring.

On the floor, Corbin attacked Dominik. Mysterio went after Corbin and hit a dropkick. 

Mysterio sent Corbin back in the ring and hit the 619, but Rollins attacked Dominik at ringside. Mysterio left the ring to make the save for his son.

Murphy and Aalyah then made their way to ringside. Mysterio told them to leave and go to the back. Mysterio went back in the ring and walked into the End of Days from Corbin for the win. 

Corbin joins the men's SmackDown team, which made Rollins very happy. 

They announced Jey Uso against Kevin Owens for later tonight. 

Survivor Series Qualifying Match: Ruby Riott defeated Zelina Vega and Natalya 

There wasn't much to the match, and it felt a bit rushed. 

Natalya locked on a surfboard on Riott, but Vega slipped in and scored a near fall on Natalya. Natalya attempted the sharpshooter on Riott, but Vega broke it up with a bulldog. She then hit a hurricanrana on Riott. 

Natalya and Vega briefly went back and forth. The finish came when Natalya locked on the sharpshooter on Vega. Vega tried to make it to the ropes, but Natalya dragged her back to the middle. 

Riott then jumped in and applied an armbar on Vega. Natalya let the sharpshooter go, and Vega tapped to Riott's armbar. Riot joins the women's SmackDown team at the Survivor Series. 

In the back, Big E was playing a board game when The Street Profits approached. They noted they took over the VIP Lounge and asked Big E to hang out. Big E figured they want inside info on The New Day. 

Big E joked that New Day is going to beat them. They all had a good laugh. Billie Kay showed up laughing. She informed the Street Profits that she just came from Raw and can give them the inside scoop. The Street Profits noted they were on Raw at the same time. 

Survivor Series Qualifying Match: Seth Rollins defeated Otis

This was a fine match.

They recapped the Murphy and Aalyah Mysterio angle. They showed the Mysterio family watching the match in the back. 

Rollins had the early advantage, but Otis overpowered Rollins. Otis threw Rollins into the corner and slammed him down. 

Murphy showed up and walked slowly to ringside. Otis was firmly in control and sent Rollins to the floor. Murphy stared at Rollins, which allowed Otis to tackle Rollins. 

Otis looked at Murphy at ringside. Rollins briefly took over, but Otis fired up. He knocked down Rollins and slammed him to the mat. Otis hit a fallaway slam and splash in the corner. 

Otis set up for the caterpillar, but Murphy jumped up on the apron. Otis went after Murphy, which caused a distraction. Rollins then hit the curb stomp for the win. 

Rollins joins the men's SmackDown team. 

Back from the break, Rollins ran up to Murphy in the back. Rollins was happy and wanted to know if Murphy is back with him. Murphy called Rollins the Messiah and himself the disciple. Rollins was happy that Murphy saw the light. Rollins left, and Aalyah ran in. 

Aalyah was furious that Murphy helped Rollins. She pushed him. He calmed her down and said that she needs to trust him. Murphy is doing this for the greater good.

Lars Sullivan Interview

Michael Cole interviewed Lars Sullivan. Sullivan talked about hating bullies. All the kids use to mock him and laugh at him. At 13, Sullivan started weight training, and he bullied the bullies. He even bullied the kids that didn't help him. 

Sullivan learned that he could bully whoever he wants. He can make them do and eat whatever he wants.

Sullivan could make the kids eat dirt, glass, or bugs. He can do whatever he wants. Sullivan screamed and laughed. 

Jey Uso defeated Kevin Owens 

Uso and Owens had a good match. They both worked hard. 

In the back, Kayla Braxton interviewed Owens before he entered. Owens noted he speaks his mind, and it's kind of a bad habit. He said things got out of hand with Jey Uso and noted they're teammates at Survivor Series. Owens is upset about what Roman Reigns forced Jey Uso to do to Daniel Bryan last week. 

Owens had the early advantage and scored a near fall with a senton. Uso attempted a suicide dive, but Owens cut him off. Uso fought back and tried the suicide dive again, but Owens caught him. 

In the back, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman were watching the match. Reigns didn't like what he was seeing and sent Heyman to ringside. 

Back from the break, Uso was firmly in control as he stomped Owens in the corner. Owens fought back and climbed to the top turnbuckle. Paul Heyman made his way to ringside, which distracted Owens. 

Uso then rocked Owens with a kick and followed up with a dive. Uso continued to beat down Owens and slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Owens broke free and rocked Uso with a superkick. 

Uso missed a splash in the corner, and Owens hit another superkick. Owens followed up with a cannonball in the corner and a Swanton for a near fall. Owens went for the pop-up powerbomb, but Uso countered with a superkick for a near fall.

Uso climbed to the top, but Owens cut him off. Owens fought back and hit a pop-up powerbomb, but Uso got his feet on the ropes. 

Suddenly, Reigns music hit, which distracted Owens. Uso used a low blow and superkick. He then hit the splash for the win. 

After the match, Reigns made his way to the ring. Reigns and Uso posed to end the show.
