Will Ospreay ‘real passionate’ about helping women’s wrestling in non-AEW role

Will Ospreay AEW

Will Ospreay has become “real passionate” about women’s wrestling and helping out indie talent through his role outside of AEW.

In addition to his in-ring career for AEW, Ospreay helps book Pro Wrestling Eve — a UK-based women’s promotion. Ospreay really enjoys that behind-the-scenes role and believes that Eve has become a crucial part of the British indie scene. The Wrestle Queendom VIII show that Eve presented this March is one of the best nights Ospreay has experienced in his career.

“I get real passionate about women’s wrestling now,” Ospreay said on Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze. “Because I do believe that being a part of it, I’ve seen the short end of the straw. A lot of the times on the British indie scene, you’ll get the one women’s match — at best two. So they’re kind of like the side piece. Eve, they’re the whole focus. They’re the story, they’re the main characters, and we can dictate the story however we want it to go. Honestly, it’s like, doing that Wrestle Queendom show was like top five moments of my entire career. It was so cool to watch that thing come to life.”

The Eve card included UK competitors, names from AEW, and wrestlers brought in from Japan. Former WWE wrestler Dakota Kai (who now competes as Charlie) was also in action.

Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, Jamie Hayter, Nyla Rose, and Ospreay’s wife Alex Windsor were featured on the Wrestle Queendom card. Ospreay told Marking Out that the timing works out well with AEW talent able to fly out on Thursdays after Dynamite and compete for Eve on Fridays. If they’re needed for Collision, there is enough time for the wrestlers to make it back to the United States after their Eve match.

Ospreay’s NJPW career led to him forming friendships with a lot of Japanese women’s wrestlers, and he’s used those connections to book talent for Eve

“I’ve got an amazing relationship with a lot of the Japanese joshi girls. I’ve got an amazing relationship with everyone at AEW,” Ospreay said. “I just bring them over. I put them on like at the end of the night. I put them on meet and greets. I make my money back from the flight and the tickets, like, pay their wage.”

Will Ospreay set for AEW World Championship challenge —

Perhaps the biggest moment of Ospreay’s in-ring career will take place this August when he headlines AEW All In 2026 against Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship. The pay-per-view is taking place at Wembley Stadium in Ospreay’s home country of England.

Ospreay earned this title shot by winning the Owen Hart Foundation men’s tournament. The road to All In has also seen Ospreay form a partnership with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.
