First time ever International title match set for AEW Redemption

Kyle Fletcher & Kazuchika Okada | AEW

AEW International Champion Kyle Fletcher will put his title on the line against Bandido in a first time ever match at next weekend’s Redemption pay-per-view.

Fletcher issued the challenge during Wednesday’s Dynamite in a backstage promo (seen below), coming shortly after he successfully defended the title against Komander. Former champion Konosuke Takeshita ran out after the match to brawl with Fletcher which brought out Kazuchika Okada to put the odds in the Don Callis Family’s favor.

As the two briefly held the belt at the same time and stared each other down, Bandido and Brody King ran out to take them out with Bandido holding the belt to end the segment.

In the promo, Fletcher said he will become the most dominant International Champion ever with former champion Okada looking on in the background, perhaps foreshadowing a future three-way title match with Fletcher and Takeshita for August’s All In.

It will be Fletcher’s second title defense while Bandido, the reigning ROH World Champion, is still in search of his first AEW singles gold.
