WWE has made a few announcements for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

MVP Arena in Albany, New York is hosting tonight’s show, which will again have Adam Pearce as acting general manager after Gunther attacked Nick Aldis last week. WWE has announced that it will follow up on that angle on SmackDown in advance of Gunther teaming with Sami Zayn against CM Punk & Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.

  • What will happen after Gunther attacked SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis last week?
  • Will it affect Saturday Night’s Main Event where The Ring General is scheduled to team with Sami Zayn against Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and Cody Rhodes?
  • Don’t miss all the action, tonight at 8 ET/7 CT on SmackDown on USA.

The Gunther-Aldis program seems like it’s going to lead to Aldis making his WWE in-ring debut, potentially at SummerSlam. The former NWA World Heavyweight Champion has been SmackDown’s GM since making his television debut.

An Undisputed WWE Championship match between Punk and Rhodes is confirmed for SummerSlam, and WWE says we’ll see how Rhodes reacts tonight ahead of teaming up with Punk at SNME.

Plus, Finn Balor vs. Talla Tonga will take place on the episode.
