World title match set for AEW All In, big Redemption post-match angle takes place
The World title match is now official for next month’s AEW All In from Wembley Stadium as Kenny Omega will put his title on the line against Will Ospreay.
Omega defeated Kevin Knight in the main event of Sunday’s AEW Redemption to retain the title, getting the pin after a One Winged Angel on the TNT Champion.
It was after the match that things got unpredictable.
The Death Riders jumped in the ring and attacked Omega, eventually bringing out the Young Bucks who then got taken out. Claudio Castagnoli put Omega’s neck in a chair and was about to Pillmanize it when Ospreay ran out to prevent it. Wheeler Yuta then hugged Ospreay and turned him around, giving Castagnoli a thumbs up to do it anyway. Ospreay figured it out, broke free, and shoved Castagnoli to the mat.
Jon Moxley then got in the ring and asked Ospreay for the chair which he had removed. Ospreay eventually handed it over and Moxley tossed it, then bringing out a plastic bag for Ospreay to suffocate Omega with. Ospreay stared and considered it before ripping it in half. Moxley then started berating Ospreay which led to Ospreay hitting him with a forearm and taking out all the Death Riders as they ran into the ring.
Moxley, however, held Castagnoli back and the faction left. Ospreay tossed his kneepad with the group’s logo on it, indicating his time in the faction is over.
Ospreay then handed the World title belt to Omega who had no idea what was going on. He eventually offered his hand and the two celebrated before Omega grabbed Ospreay off the second rope and delivered a One Winged Angel, standing over him afterward. The Bucks then got back in the ring and questioned what he was doing before all three men posed to end the show.
