AEW announces special Rebel Heart Dynamite episode
This September, AEW will hold a special edition of Dynamite to celebrate Rebel and benefit ALS research.
The promotion announced today that “AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite” will emanate live from Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia on Wednesday, September 9. An appearance by Rebel (Tanea Brooks) is scheduled, and AEW will be making donations to I Am ALS and the Team Gleason Foundation.
Since announcing her ALS diagnosis, Rebel has joined I Am ALS and taken up the cause of furthering ALS awareness. The disease is fatal and currently has no cure, but Rebel is committed to doing everything she can so future generations do not have to endure what she is going through.
Tickets for the Dynamite episode are going on sale to the general public this Friday (July 31) at 10 a.m. Eastern time. Kenny Omega, Mercedes Mone, Will Ospreay, and Swerve Strickland are featured on AEW’s advertising graphic for the show. Fans in attendance will receive a special limited-edition Rebel trading card sheet from Upper Deck.
On the AEW calendar, this event is happening during the month between All In (August 30) and All Out (September 26).
Rebel’s fight against ALS —
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a progressive disease that attacks the nervous system. Rebel announced her diagnosis this May after going through a long health ordeal where doctors were unable to fully pinpoint what was wrong with her.
During her battle, Rebel has taken solace in being able to see how much everyone loves and supports her. Members of the AEW roster have done the Ice Bucket Challenge in her name, with Britt Baker, The Young Bucks, Sting, and Adam Cole among those who have participated. Truth Magnum of The Outrunners put together an indie show in Louisville last week where all proceeds went to I Am ALS.
I Am ALS is a patient-led advocacy group looking to advance ALS awareness and the search for a cure. The Team Gleason Foundation was started by former NFL player Steve Gleason, who is battling ALS, and is aiming to bring an end to the disease and help anyone who is fighting it.

In addition, the event at Akins Ford Arena takes place in the home community of the University of Georgia’s Regenerative Bioscience Center (RBC), where groundbreaking research and the training of future scientific leaders are helping drive the development of new therapies for ALS.
AEW also has Rebel Heart T-shirts and bracelets on sale to benefit these organizations.
