Will Ospreay competing at AEW Grand Slam Mexico, updated card announced
Will Ospreay will return to AEW Grand Slam Mexico for the second straight year, but this time in his first-ever singles match at Arena Mexico.
Ospreay will take on former friend/partner and rival Mark Davis after the now-former National Champion issued the challenge on AEW Dynamite in a backstage promo. Per Davis, there will be no outside interference from the Don Callis Family.
It will be their fifth-ever singles meeting and fourth in AEW. Ospreay is 3-1, gaining a measure of revenge for an April 2026 loss with a win over Davis in an Owen Hart Foundation semifinal back in June.
Ospreay, who is set to challenge AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at next month’s All In, was on the losing end of an all-star ten-man tag team match last year.
The other new match announced will feature AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale and the Brawling Birds against Mercedes Mone and AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion in a trios match.
Nightingale’s championship celebration Wednesday was broken up by Mone with she and Divine Dominion attacking the new champion, leading to the Brawling Birds running in for the save. Nightingale will defend against Mone at All In and it’s assumed Divine Dominion will defends their titles against the Birds on that same show.
This will be AEW’s second-ever trip to the famous arena as part of their partnership with CMLL.
