Rebel responds to Kevin Owens’ emotional SummerSlam post-show message
AEW’s Rebel (real name Tanea Brooks) responded to Kevin Owens’ heartwarming shoutout at the WWE SummerSlam post-show. The newly returned WWE star extended support for Rebel citing her battle with terminal ALS as ‘inspirational’.
Rebel acknowledged the gesture and expressed pride in his recovery journey and WWE return. She praised him for his recovery journey from neck and spinal injury, encouraging him to continue giving his all.
“thank you KO. I am proud of your return and you fighting through it to get there. Never Stop giving your everything because you are right, it can be taken away in a second,” wrote Rebel.
Many in the wrestling industry, including AEW and its talents, have taken part in an Ice Bucket Challenge to show support for Rebel. AEW launched a fundraiser to assist those affected by ALS, a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disease.
The promotion also announced a special Rebel Heart edition of Dynamite to honor the AEW star on September 9.
