Former AEW Tag Team & Trios Champion’s contract reportedly up this fall
Max Caster hasn’t been in an AEW ring since December 2025 and there appears to be a possibility he might not anytime soon.
Fightful Select reported on Monday that Caster’s AEW contract is set to expire around this October. They also reported that they have not heard if both sides are discussing an extension or a new deal.
Caster last appeared in the Dynamite Diamond Ring battle royal on the December 17 Dynamite. After he and Anthony Bowens split up The Acclaimed in January 2025, Caster adopted a new five minute challenge gimmick and went on an extensive losing streak as AEW attempted to repackage both men as singles acts. However, neither caught on and they began working toward a reunion neither man wanted to do in storyline.
Caster hasn’t wrestled in 2026 for AEW, but has appeared for various Northeast indies like Wrestling Open, Create-A-Pro and Gotham Wrestling.
After debuting in June 2020 on AEW Dark, Caster was paired with Bowens and became one of AEW’s top homegrown tag team acts, defeating Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland in December 2022 in one of the company’s biggest feuds that year. They lost them in February 2023 to The Gunns, ending their only reign.
In August 2023, Caster, Bowens and Billy Gunn won the AEW Trios titles from the House of Black at August 2023’s All In. They defended them 11 times before dropping them to the Bang Bang Gang at April 2024’s Dynasty.
