Hangman Page & Brodido win Trios titles at AEW Grand Slam Mexico
Arena Mexico continues to be a special place for Hangman Page as he and Brodido won the AEW Trios titles from The Demand at Wednesday’s Grand Slam Mexico.
The three — coined The Good, The Bad & The Ugly last week — picked up the win after Page kicked Toa Liona and hit a Buckshot lariat on him as Bandido struggled to get him up in a 21 Plex, knocking him over and giving Bandido the pin and win.
It was their first match as a team after Page came out to aid Brody King as The Demand and Lethal Twist were attacking he and The Conglomeration last Wednesday.
It’s the second Trios title run for both King and Page, albeit with different partners. It’s Bandido’s first AEW Trios title run and he becomes a double champion as he still holds the ROH World title.
The loss ends the eight-day run for Ricochet, Liona and Bishop Kaun. After winning the titles from Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly last Wednesday, they successfully defended against The Rascalz on Thursday with the Grand Slam Mexico match being set up on the same show.
Page opened last year’s inaugural Grand Slam Mexico event by cutting a memorable promo in Spanish to build his challenge of then-AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at All In: Texas.
