First three men advance in AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament
The first three men have advanced in the inaugural AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament after Saturday’s AEW Collision with five left to go.
In the night’s main event, Eddie Kingston returned to form and picked up a win over Jake Doyle to advance after hitting two spinning back fists and a dragon sleeper. Kingston was notably the first-ever Continental Champion with Saturday’s win being his first on AEW TV in nearly eight months.
In the show opener, Claudio Castagnoli advanced with his win over Ace Austin in their first ever singles match, getting the pin after a pop-up European uppercut.
In another first time matchup, Orange Cassidy snapped a four-match losing streak on AEW TV with a win over Matt Sydal. The end came when Cassidy avoided a shooting star press attempt and hit Sydal with a Beach Break to get the pin.

Next Saturday’s Collision (Las Vegas):
- Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O’Reilly
- Hechicero vs. Brian Cage

After next Saturday, the remaining eight men will be entered into a blind draw to determine the quarterfinals. The semifinals then take place on the go-home edition of AEW Dynamite from Glasgow, Scotland, with the finals set for the pay-per-view in London’s Wembley Stadium.
