AEW’s Andrade El Idolo to be ‘out of action for a few days or weeks’
AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo is set to be out for the next few days or weeks.
Just days after competing at AEW Grand Slam Mexico, El Idolo has confirmed his upcoming absence. Recently in Mexico, he defeated Tommaso Ciampa and Komander to earn the number one spot in the AEW All In London Casino Gauntlet match.
Shortly after, on social media, the 36-year-old announced that despite not feeling well since Grand Slam Mexico, he performed two shows in MLP Canada but will now require some time off.
“Hi everyone and especially Las Señoritas! I’ve just landed back in Miami, where I live, and I went straight to the DR. I hadn’t been feeling well since the Wednesday after the Grand Slam, but as a professional, I had two shows in Canada with MLP. I’ll keep you posted, but I have to be out of action for a few days or weeks. It’s nothing serious, Take care! but… I have one question?”
However, the details behind El Idolo’s absence or any injury concerns were not shared. Soon after he announced his hiatus, former AEW World Champion MJF dropped a cheeky comment on Andrade El Idolo’s post.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA How you know? OH I KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!” MJF wrote.
At AEW Redemption 2026, Andrade El Idolo defeated Mark Davis to become the current National Champion and has defended his title once since then.
