AEW announces signing of Will Hobbs

For Will Hobbs, what a difference a battle royal can make.

The eight-year pro was an entrant into the 21-man Casino Battle Royale at AEW’s All Out without a single win in the company over seven matches dating back to July. Then, he put in an impressive performance and was one of the final six men in the match along with Brian Cage, Lance Archer, Eddie Kingston, The Butcher and Matt Sydal.

After two subsequent quick wins on Dark over Sean Legacy and Jessy Sorenson, Hobbs is officially under contract as announced by the company Wednesday. Per usual, terms were not disclosed.

An All Pro Wrestling (California) trainee, Hobbs had a past tryout at the WWE Performance Center and has worked with familiar names on the indies like MLW’s Jacob Fatu and Alexander Hammerstone, NJPW’s Jeff Cobb, Impact Wrestling’s Trey Miguel, ROH’s Brody King, and others.

The 6’1″, 252-pounder tweeted, “Been through hell and back. Dreams do come true. BELIEVE IN #WILLPOWER.”
