AEW’s Ricky Starks out of action with fractured neck

AEW’s Ricky Starks will be on the sidelines for three months due to a fractured neck.

Voices of Wrestling first reported the news Tuesday with our Bryan Alvarez confirming.

Starks suffered the injury in his match against Hangman Page on the April 21st AEW Dynamite. He took a german suplex from Page and in trying to flip over to land on his feet, he hit awkwardly on both his neck and his ankle. He worked the rest of the match in a losing effort.

He tweeted afterward that he was good and credited DDP Yoga for his flexibility.

He appeared on the following week’s Dark in a tag match with Powerhouse Hobbs, but never got into the match as it lasted all of 32 seconds.

The Team Taz member has been a standout since debuting for AEW in June of 2020, challenging then-TNT Champion Cody Rhodes as part of an open challenge. The former NWA TV Champion has yet to taste AEW gold.
