Penelope Ford replacing Britt Baker in AEW Double or Nothing match

AEW announced Friday night that Penelope Ford will replace Britt Baker in her match against Kris Statlander at Saturday’s AEW Double or Nothing.

Baker was injured at AEW Dynamite Wednesday in a tag team match and an update on her status will be given at the pay-per-view. The injury came when Statlander and Hikaru Shida slammed Baker’s partner, AEW women’s champion Nyla Rose, onto her as she sat in a corner of the ring, injuring her right knee in the process. She managed to make it through a few spots before tagging out and having an AEW doctor tend to her on the ring apron.

Baker has yet to address the extent of her injury on social media.

This will be Ford and Statlander’s first singles match in AEW, but they have competed against each other in two four way matches. Since failing to take the title from Rose in February, Statlander has had just one straight up singles match, a May 6th Dark win over Dani Jordyn.
