AEW announcer Jim Ross’ hospital stay almost over

Jim Ross

It has been a trying 12 months for Jim Ross, but the Hall of Fame announcer shared some good news on Monday evening.

For undisclosed reasons, Ross has been in an Oklahoma hospital since May 29. But he announced tonight that he will be discharged tomorrow.

“Heading home tomorrow!” Ross posted on social media. “Over 30 days in the hospital come to a grateful end. Count your blessings daily.”

Ross has suffered from numerous health issues lately. Last year, he underwent successful surgery to treat colon cancer. In May, he revealed he had been seeing a neurologist, who had been evaluating him for signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Later that month, he suffered a fall in a New York hotel room that caused him to miss Double or Nothing.

On June 20, Ross posted on social media that he had been in the hospital for 22 days. That means he would have gone into the hospital on Friday, May 29.

In other news, Ross’ contract with AEW expires this August. However, he says he’s in no hurry to sign a new deal.

“I’m just going to let it play out,” Ross said. “If Tony Khan wants to keep me, he will. If he doesn’t, then he won’t.”
