AEW announces signing of Anna Jay

In an effort to deepen their women’s division, AEW announced the signing of Anna Jay to a contract Monday with exact terms not disclosed.

Originally known as “Anna Jayy”, the Georgia native made her promotional debut on last Wednesday’s Dynamite in a losing effort to Hikaru Shida. She is a student of QT Marshall whose school the show was filmed at.

Jay (born Anna Jernigan) is relatively new in the business and has been working primarily in Georgia Premier Wrestling.

She joins a division that features Nyla Rose as champion in addition to Riho, Britt Baker, Big Swole, Penelope Ford, and others. The company has added also added Matt Hardy and Brodie Lee in recent weeks.

Given that AEW filmed a good amount of matches at Marshall’s school in order to fill time over the next few weeks while the company goes into a shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s likely that Jay, known as “The Star of The Show”, will be seen on either Dynamite or Dark again sooner than later.
