Update on AEW’s future plans for Australia

AEW Grand Slam Australia

AEW has a plan in place to return to Australia for years to come.

Revealed on Wrestle Radio Australia earlier Thursday (seen below), the hosts noted that AEW had signed a five-year deal with TEG Sport last year to bring AEW action to the country. Based on the information provided, the deal will run through 2029. No other details were given.

A division of parent company TEG, the group “is responsible for helping major global brands break new markets in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom and the United States.”

Last month, the dates and locations were revealed for AEW’s Australia return: Saturday, February 14 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena for a Grand Slam event and Sunday, February 15 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for a House Rules event.

AEW debuted in Australia for one show this past February at the aforementioned BEC. At the time, it was AEW’s third-largest gate in company history at more than $1.3 million with an estimated 11,000-12,000 in attendance.
